An accomplished musician who has been performing professionally for over 25 years, Taryn has an incredibly commanding performance style….each live performance is exciting and spontaneous. Her piano playing is tenacious and purposeful, while her voice is smooth, sultry, and unique to her. Taryn lights up the stage every
time she plays.

Currently, Taryn has been performing as a duo with a drummer… Fresh, unique and exciting the two play anything from 60’s soul jazz, funk, jump/swing, Latin, and their own term of beatnik blues taking the listener on a musical adventure. With an unwavering left hand, a right hand that weaves in and out effortlessly, and a backbeat as solid as a rock, theDuo has a sound larger than life.
Each performance is different from the last, capturing the moods of the players. The two are not bound by rules, but instead have a desire to express their own musical voice and deliver something captivating.

“I look forward to creating something unique each time I play.”- Taryn

MODERN DAY CHICAGO BLUES LEGEND

2019 BMAs Traditional Blues Male Artist of the Year – “Nick Moss is at the forefront of contemporary Chicago blues. His muscular, electric energy combines jaw-dropping guitar, gruff, soulful vocals and impassioned songwriting.” — Living Blues

2019 BMAs Best Instrumentalist, Harmonica – “Dennis Gruenling is a leading light among a new generation of harp players…a true innovator.” — Blues Revue

Blues guitar virtuoso Nick Moss and harmonica wizard Dennis Gruenling have been on a winning streak since they first joined forces in 2016. With relentless nonstop touring and the release of their Alligator Records debut, The High Cost Of Low Living, in 2018, The Nick Moss Band Featuring Dennis Gruenling has been playing for wildly enthusiastic fans and winning over critics and radio programmers worldwide. Debuting at #3 on the Billboard Blues Chart, the album topped many 2018 “Best Of” lists. UK tastemaker magazine Mojo said, “Guitarist and singer Nick Moss shows the world his fearsome guitar chops and his complete familiarity with the great tradition of Chicago blues music. Partnered with harmonica-player Dennis Gruenling, Moss creates a two-headed monster that takes the band thundering through crisp originals.”

Their self-made lucky streak continued into early 2019, when down-and-dirty guitarist Moss – a 30-year veteran of Chicago’s take-no-prisoners rough and tumble West and South Side blues clubs — won the Blues Music Award (BMA) for Traditional Blues Male Artist Of The Year. Gruenling, one on the hottest players on the scene today, took the BMA for Best Instrumentalist–Harmonica. And now, with the odds heavily in their favor, they unleash their dynamic new album, Lucky Guy!

Chickenbone Slim

Chickenbone Slim is an original Roots Rock artist based in San Diego, CA. His 4-piece band features the 2023 Blues Music Awards Best Blues Guitarist Laura Chavez (first woman and first hispanic in history to win the award). Signed in 2021 to Vizztone Records, Chickenbone’s 4th all-original album, “Serve It To Me Hot” received rave reviews and a 2021 San Diego Music award for Best Blues/Jazz recording. Chickenbone’s newest album “Damn Good and Ready”, recorded at Greaseland Studios, showcases Chickenbone’s songwriting and the high quality band’s talent, and is a solid artistic updating of roots music for the 21st century.

After graduating from Northern Illinois University, keyboardist and composer Brian Simpson relocated to Los Angeles where he was soon playing alongside musicians Gerald Albright and Norman Brown and eventually on a world tour with Janet Jackson.

In 1990 Simpson received a call from George Duke that led to a decade of touring and production work with the late jazz legend. It was his tenure with George that led to working with a variety of artists, from James Ingram and Anita Baker to Dave Koz and Wayman Tisdale.

The popularity of his music world wide has kept Mr. Simpson on a seemingly endless world tour which in 2019 included Japan, Australia, Korea, Indonesia, Philippines, Spain, United Kingdom, Portugal, and South Africa.

With writing and performing credits on R&B chart-topping albums and Smooth Jazz Airplay charts, it’s clear why Brian is the veteran Music Director of so many jazz events.

Brian is a recording artist with Shanachie Entertainment which released his eleventh CD entitled Soul Connection (2023).

Williams was a teenager when he opened for R&B acts Lakeside and Al Green along with gospel legend Shirley Caesar. After studying jazz at San Diego State University, Williams went from regular gigs backing many of San Diego’s most prominent homegrown talent to the neon lights of the Las Vegas strip where he accompanied such nationally-renowned headliners as Clint Holmes, Angela Bofill, Tevin Campbell, Howard Hewett and Keith Washington, and did a road stint with Chaka Khan. After moving back to California in 2008, Williams dropped his debut album, “That Was Then,” garnering praise from JazzTimes and national airplay on SiriusXM. He has become a fixture on the smooth/contemporary jazz scene where he has shared the stage with the genre’s heavy hitters: Richard Elliot, Peter White, Gerald Albright, Mindi Abair, Brenda Russell, Darren Rahn, Jessy J, Everette Harp and Jeff Kashiwa.
