MANY MORE!

Hailing from Kansas City, Missouri, Danielle Nicole has spent her life making music and pleasing fans, domestically and abroad. Her stunning new album, The Love You Bleed on Forty Below Records, comprises twelve  heartfelt tracks exploring themes of love, loss and perseverance.

With her two brothers, she became a member of Trampled Under Foot, which found initial popularity in the Midwest. Danielle embarked on her solo career with Wolf Den (2015), which peaked at #2 on the Billboard Blues charts and amassed 7.5 million Spotify streams. Cry No More (2018) followed, the record was nominated for a Grammy in the contemporary blues category and debuted at number one in the Billboard Blues Charts – it also boasts over Spotify streams in excess of 10 million.

Sandi King

“The Cash Box Kings rule the roost! This band has taken old school Chicago blues and brought it jumping and hollering into the 21st century.  I’ve seen a lot of bands play this style of music, but I gotta say these guys take that old school sound and go somewhere new with it” – Dan Aykroyd

“One of the best blues bands in the land. Any of these musicians could have played with the great bands of the golden blues era.  Together they keep a sound alive that many thought was no more.” – Living Blues Magazine

“Oscar Wilson’s powerful and deep voice harkens back to the golden age of Chicago blues. Nosek blows spirited, muscular harp. The Cash Box Kings serve up undeniable proof that they remain one of the top blues bands of this era.”

Chickenbone Slim has been deeply rooted in the San Diego Blues scene for 30 years, first as a bassist, and since 2011 as a guitarist, vocalist and bandleader.  His sound is reminiscent of Johnny “Guitar” Watson in the Third Ward of Houston circa 1964–Chicago/Texas/Gulf Coast/Uptown Blues with an authentic 1950’s to 1960’s vibe.

By mixing original blues and swing music with traditional covers, Chickenbone’s shows are greasy, down-home, and entertaining, keeping the dance floor packed all night.  Chickenbone has been serving up his style of Blues throughout the Western U.S. to audiences hungry for the real deal.  Since he formed the band in 2012, Chickenbone has played over 1,500 performances, from the San Diego Blues Festival (2018), Gator By The Bay, Adams Ave Street Fair and Unplugged, and on tour throughout CA and AZ.

His newest CD, “Sleeper” (Lo Fi Mob Records ©2020) features ten all original modern blues songs that are soulful and unique, while adhering to authentic classic blues style.   Recorded at Greaseland Studios by Christoffer “Kid” Andersen, the disc balances on the line between originality and creativity with a deep understanding and respect for blues styles and history.  Along with its predecessors,   “Gone” (2015) and “The Big Beat” (2017), Sleeper is picking up rave reviews nationally, and internationally.

Chickenbone’s band, known as “The Biscuits”, is made up of top local and touring San Diego Blues musicians including Scot Smart or Laura Chavez on guitar, Marty Dodson on drums, and Andrew Crane on bass.  Special guests on “Sleeper” include Joey Harris (guitar/vocal), Jerry Rainey (guitar/vocal), and Troy Sandow (harmonica).  Chickenbone doesn’t like to name drop, but looking up his players will attest to their level of musicianship.
